Offbeat Valentine’s Day Gifts
I wanted to do a nice Offbeat V-day gift post. But really, what do you give your offbeat pals. Since I highly doubt you’ll be giving anyone an offbeat house for Valentine’s Day - and furniture is a little out of most people’s means as well, I thought, hmmm, flowers!
Most folks enjoy getting flowers for Valentine’s. However, there’s not much creativity is there? You could do something typical I suppose. Something like this:

Yawn!
I found some better ideas. I mean; if you’re going to send flowers then send flowers.
Gifts 2 the Door has some unique - without being so unique that they’re insane arrangements.
I like how it comes in a box, not a vase.
Now if you do go with roses, then I think roses on a stick, with twirls of greenery are much more fun. I’m pretty sure these are meant for a wedding, but I’d take them for Valentine’s Day - wouldn’t you? By the talented folks at Bella Fiore (great flower design gallery - go see!)
This next arrangement of callas and hops is great. All you need is a fish. Maybe a red fish - it is V-Day. From Cadboro Bay Florist.
ink & peat is a new store coming to my town of Portland, Oregon very soon. I’m way excited because they look like they’ll have plenty of beautiful items for me to drool over at another blog of mine. They also create great floral designs. Their designs are really very, Portland style, which I suppose is good since they’re in Portland. Their flowers just look like the ones you can pick up at the farmers markets around here - fresh.
This one uses my favorite roses - they look lime-colored when closed (I used to work in a flower wholesale nursery place.) I don’t know what the green tufts are though. Very Dr. Seuss.
Blume takes floral design to an entirely new level. Unique, amazing, designs like you’ve never seen. You really have to visit their flower gallery - especially the amour designs. Each of their pieces is just spectacular.
Look, this is so much better than red roses…
This next one is my favorite.

There were some far more wacky flower arrangements out there; but I figured somewhat offbeat might be better than off the wall for Valentine’s Day. At least you have some different ideas to work with - I don’t want to hear about anyone sending plain red roses now. Unless of course, that’s what your valentine is dreaming of. Then I suppose you have to.
