Offbeat Glitches
Ever heard the saying, “The best laid plans often crumble to the sea?” Ok, maybe I just made that up.
But it’s not false.
Here’s the deal:
- I know I said I’d post the answers to the previous post yesterday.
- Wordpress failed me big time yesterday (not improving my weekend by the way).
- Then I got tagged for a meme; and as steadfast readers who followed me here from Balance may know — I’m not the world’s biggest meme fan.
- However, I was tagged by Susan at Brandcurve which happens to be one of my favorite b5media blogs (it rocks in all kind of hard core ways — highly recommended if you haven’t visited).
- So, I’m going to do it.
Therefore I’m switching things up. No big. The schedule I mentioned Friday is just being pushed back a bit. Think of it as an Offbeat intermission.
Tag I’m it: 8 random things about this Offbeat girl
- When my mom divorced my dad she actually changed my name — I was already four!
- I have a degree in mathematics, I’m not all about the words.
- I’ve jumped into more mosh pits at ska shows than I care to admit.
- Every weekend when I was 12 I watched Headbanger’s Ball.
- I’ve won acting awards and was about 3 seconds away from attending a theater performing arts college.
- I’m the only person in my immediate family who is right handed.
- I’ve never let anyone cut my hair.
- When I was four I filled my sister’s water cup with soap — now she’s my best friend.
There you have it folks, the first and last meme you will ever see me do.
Tag you’re it: Susan tagged other b5 bloggers; I think I’m going to tag favorite readers from various blogs of mine who I haven’t heard say they hate memes yet… But believe me, if you dislike memes it won’t hurt my feelings if you nicely decline (unless you’re my sister — in that case declining would be unwise).
- My sister Sarah (because she’s sister-licious) at Sarah’s Moments.
- Julie at Not Enough Coffee; because with the kids and writing, heck she needs more to do.
- Angelique at Recess for Writers. Because her blog is very good and she always leaves the best comments.
- Mysti who’s the next big thing in the world of honest blogs.
- Paticus, who seems an unlikely tag-taker, but as the smartest music guy I know I gotta try.
- Liberty because I like to stalk her, but haven’t in a while, so she’s due.
- Karen at Write Now who maybe could use some fun after her last two weeks.
- My oldest most likeable blog buddy Benny; who may or may not have time for this (sorry).
- (This is hard work) oh wait, am I done… yes! Thank goodness. Crabby you so lucked out ;)
I guess how this meme deal works is you post 8 random things about your own little self on your blog and tag 8 others to do the same…
Back to business. Tomorrow answers abound… Tuesday & Wed super cool stuff and then on to a reader’s home, whew I’m exhausted.
See you tomorrow.

Thank you, Jennifer! And thanks for the nice plug for Brandcurve, too. One good thing about this meme, I love your blog, so can’t wait to visit all the blogs you tagged! Today is my triplets 3rd birthday though, and they’re waking up from their nap. Alas, it will have to wait until tomorrow. Now I have to go jump in the bounce house we rented for them. :)

Hey, I’m game for it. Why the heck not?
Thanks for the plug! Now I have to write something really interesting to live up to your kind words!
: )
P.S. Did your mother change your FIRST name? What was it? Just curious!

Susan, happy three x three - whew. That’s a lot of jumping. Anqelique, good but your blog’s already great - I’m always interested. And it was my second and last name. The last name I could see, but the middle one was out of spite; (mom was odd) what it was… well, this game was not 9 random things. :)

ha ha ha!
I think we should guess! Jasmine? Natasha? Olga? Rumplestiltskin? (Can you tell my son and I recently read some fairy tales?)

I played along.
I don’t hate memes. I don’t care for the word itself, though.I don’t know why that is.

Thanks Paticus! Smart and a trooper — I love how you did not tag others. Very cool.

Whew, close call!
Actually Jennifer, I was so impressed with your general “no meme” strategy that I adapted it myself when I got tagged three times in two days once. So now that I’ve said “sorry no memes,” I need to wait a respectable amount of time before ever even thinking of going back on it.
However, I’m glad you did this one because of all the cool things I learned about you. Math, acting, and no haircuts… it’s all great stuff. Thanks for sharing that, and for introducing me to some new blogs!

Crabby, I know, I remember your adopted rule. I never would have tagged you although I thought of trick tagging you for kicks. And yes, while maybe not totally cool, I’m a girl just full of surprises.

Maybe we could do a “reverse” Meme day where we ask you questions to find out “The Girl Behind the Blog”. : )

Ooh, you little stinker. So new to blogs am I and you’ve got me posting questionable randomness about myself. But, puh-leeze, you know I’m a big fan of shameless self-promotion, so if other people will hit my MySpace page to learn about all the engrossing irons in my fire, as you would say…COOL!

Never a reverse meme day! We frown on most memes around these here parts.
Liberty, hello. Yes I knew you’d never be able to resist the limelight — we’re sort of alike that way. I’ll come by later to learn all your soap operaish secrets…. do I really say cool that much? Hmmm, maybe I do. Should I switch to “radical dude” — yes, in fact I will ;)

Argh! I don’t know enough people to tag on my blog. Can I just post the randomness?
And thanks for the plug!

Hey Julie, take a look at what Karen or Paticus did on their blogs… Although, what a meme (lame as it is) is set up to do is get you hits. The more people you tag the better hits your own blog will get. Do you know any newbies at AW who might like some extra hits?

Other than me? Hm…Not sure. But I added a few to my sidebar, just wasn’t sure if I knew them well enough to tag them. Then again, why not?

I belatedly accept. It’ll give me a good reason to post again, and it can’t get any easier than having the post topic already laid out for me (not to mention the fact that it’s short and sweet). I’ll hopefully post it soon…

Well, that’s 99% of you all (Thanks Benny!!) let’s see, although Mysti did not comment here, but she played… So who is missing…who the heck could it be?
That sister of mine is in soooo much trouble. Actually, she “says” she’ll be playing so still visit her blog, she’s bound to say something funny.
Thanks everyone — I’ve never seen such a meme happy bunch in my life. And don’t worry there will be no more tagging. EVER.
:)
