No Palace Like Home

by Kevin Humphrey on February 9th, 2006

No Palace Like HomeWhile the interior of Dennis Nelem’s home may illicit visions of the Palace of Versailles or a stately English manor, the reality is that it’s just his flat in Cleveleys near Blackpool in the UK. It seems as though Dennis has a thing for 15th-century artwork and he’s spent the last six years decorating his most recent domicile in painstaking detail.

As you’ll see in the photo gallery on the Manchester Evening News web site, he’s been a busy fellow. Unable to remain idle in his retirement, he’s transformed his life-long interest in baroque and Renaissance art into something truly unique.

Luckily, his wife, Norma, is a good sport about it too, as she’s quoted in the article…”I had no idea he would do something like this. He just said he was going to do some decorating. I love it - I wouldn’t have it any other way.

You’ll find the photo gallery here and the full article from the Manchester Evening News is here.
