Monday Modular: Where Is My Condo
It looks like a container. It stacks like a container. You move it like a container. Don’t confuse it for one either. Andrew Maynard Architects believes containers give you nothing but poor proportions. It doesn’t matter though, it’s an awesome idea. A condo complex with units spread around the perimeter of a circle. The units are movable and stackable. The moving of the units offer a unique experience for each resident. Letting each of them have the
opportunity to benefit from a penthouse view and the convenience of a ground floor.
Let’s be a little more critical now for a second. I want to take issue with the fact of not using containers. The use of containers is a way to recycle them. The containers have an exterior that is structural and water tight. Even though Andrew Maynard Architects thought to add a windmill to offset the power consumption of running the container mover…What if you leave for work, go out for some drinks, and come home not to find your home in the same place?
They would need some type of schedule, map, or early warning system. This way you don’t have to suffer through the embarrassment of going to your neighbors door, actually they moved to, to find your home.
