Living in the Hive
These are just a couple of images from photographer Michael Wolf and they document one of the most densely populated places on the planet - Hong Kong - in a rather dramatic fashion.
They are part of a larger series of photographs from a study that can be found in Hong Kong: Front Door / Back Door, a book by Kenneth Baker and Douglas Young.
I’ve found over the years that many folks equate weird forms of habitation with quirky eccentrics who live out in the boonies. Well, sometimes us eccentric folk out in the country see the way most urbanites live as a little strange. I know I would go stark raving mad if I had to live in a place like Hong Kong. I’m the type who needs a bit of elbow room.
