Let There Be Offbeat Light
Lately I’ve been a tad obsessive over Ingo Maurer. Maurer is a lighting genius; taking light and form to an entirely new artistic level.
I’m familiar with some of his work - like the popular Porca Miseria (a white European porcelain piece made with silverware and metal). It’s hard to see in the photo below, but light illuminates from within the piece.

However, I recently saw his LED table in one of my architect magazines. It’s actually an older piece, just one I had never seen. It’s beautiful though - sparkling and delicate. I found a photo of said LED Glass Table at Inhabitat. They have one photo that shows a close up as well.

Lovely, right. It would be fun to eat at.
I really like this ceiling lamp piece - the Birdie’s Nest.

You can see many more of Maurer’s fanciful lights, and the products that are available for home or commercial decor, at Ingo Maurer’s home page.

I think I’d like the birdie’s nest without the feathers… of course, that would defeat the whole purpose.
