Ever Have One of Those Days?

by Jennifer Chait on September 25th, 2007

You know, one of those days where everything is all topsy turvy and obnoxious. I sure do. If you can relate; than boy do I have the perfect house for you.

Do I even need to say anything?

Freshome has the entire low-down on this house, more photos, PLUS a super slick video where you can see the interior (yup chairs on the ceiling). The video is, in my opinion a must see. You’ll learn that this house is not just some oddball creation or prop but a statement on the world. Seriously.

I technically found the house via The Home Rejuvenation Blog — a blog recently brought to my attention but I’ll discuss that more in the next post. My world today looks sort of like that house and I’d rather discuss cool blog news in a separate post.

So, could you live here? I get dizzy in those little crooked houses for kids at amusement parks so for me — no.

You always say the perfect thing to crack me up. Also, like I’d blame your kids… we all know this is much more your style. Let’s keep those kiddos out of it.

I think it would… people are off-settled by oddness. Dimensions can throw you. The people in the video said they were thrown.

That is too cool. To bad it isn’t liveable! It’s funny that the workers had to take breaks because it messed too much with their mind. I think that’s a different and more important message than what the creator intended. We can become so accustomed to our own point of view we just can’t physically accept anything that challenges that perception. :) anyway enough of that!

Maybe… but the thing about special affects are that our brains can’t handle them. Like when you see that circle trick that makes you believe the circles are animated but really it’s just a trick of design. I wonder if our brains are programmed for logical perception or maybe the artists among us are programmed differently.

Actually, I think this topic is going somewhere too far reaching for me tonight though so I’ll just sign off now. But good point.
