Specht Harpman is all over the place which isn’t surprising considering their innovative take on energy efficient living with the zeroHouse. I adore the zeroHouse but beyond this home even, I think that any architect firm listing “Impractical” as a design category is worth a good look.
If you haven’t heard of the zeroHouse I’d be […]

I’ve been noticing offbeat beaver houses everywhere lately…
NO! Not these kind. More like this…
I have no idea what the heck this is. And also, it’s sort of a cheat because it’s not an actual home but look at this:
He’s leaning up against a little house. Weird. If you’re looking for a more swanky offbeat beaver […]

Boy do I look small time, compared to the coverage at d*s (design*sponge). They were invited to the Top Design Season (Show) Finale party. She shares some behind the scenes dirt and finds out that Todd Oldham is also familiar with the d*s blog! Whoa!
I wasn’t the only Goil supporter either, d*s was on his […]

Finally a whole space. Top Design Lofty Designs.
With a budget of $162,500 transform a Loft, at Santa Fe Lofts, for themselves. This task was, unlike ANY of the others, heavy on design time. Matt and Carisa were allowed TWO MONTHS! On the other hand, they were only given five days to execute. Weird.
At the beginning […]

A trip to the Viceroy served as a back drop for inspiration, maybe a little intimidation too. The wonderfully beautiful, and extremely talented Kelly Wearstler is the designer responsible for the Viceroys look. This weeks task, design a hotel room. This weeks incentive, not immunity, but a editoral spotlight in Metropolitan Home.
Yawn…
We are in a […]
