I’m not sure if the award winning Ontario College of Art and Design has ever made an Offbeat appearance - (I’m feeling lazy about checking all the 2006 archives). That said, I’ll err on the safe side and post it.
If you haven’t seen it; it’s pretty cool. It is however, one of those buildings that […]

I’ve been cleaning out my bookmarks - I seriously have hundreds of Offbeat items that I’ve found, or that people have sent me. That’s cool and all, but I think it’s been slowing my blogging down here at Offbeat, because I can never find what I want.
So, I sat down today, and two hours later, […]

Since I don’t, what I can tell you about Kauffmann Theilig & Partner is that their designs rock. Sure I could look them up on some English websites but it’s the weekend. Let’s just have a nice show.

materialicious posted this home back in August and I’ve been pretty much drooling over it. It’s not even my style but one, it’s so unique. Two, it’s an amazing use of space when you think about it. Build up not out, conserve land, and make use of old standing material.

It’s pretty bad when your house makes you look fat!
It’s not about how big your lot is, it is how you use it. Well this home is about 5′-0″ wide and three stories. The owner is planning a FOURTH floor addition. The lot next door must not be for sale.

This building caught my eye on Treehugger, but it turns out they got it from Architectnophilia. This building has an hidden wind turbine! How cool is that? Then it seems the design of the building it self reminds me of a propeller. Was each tower designed aerodynamically to create an air foil? So who designed […]

Chicago is quickly becoming the benchmark for eco-multi-family living. Jetson Green has learned that the USGBC has moved it’s Greenbuild 2007 conference from LA to Chicago. It is because of projects like 340 On The Park that has brought Chicago recognition. When you look at […]
