If you haven’t seen the work of Robert Harvey Oshatz, then you’re in for a huge treat, because he’s our only guest here at Offbeat today. He’s that cool. He gets the whole day. Although really he’s so cool he should get the month. But I digress.
Oshatz has designed many an amazing structure in my […]

Andreas Angelidakis is a very unusual architect / think tank. The best thing about Angelidakis, is the use of shapes. Nothing is ever a square box with regards to his designs, well, not a boring square box anyhow. From waves, to circles, to geometric oddities, there’s a dream-like structure for just about everyone at Angelidakis’ […]

I am speechless. Me.
What in tarnation is going on here? I have no clue.
Oh, the title… Well, Cedar walked out the other day and said, “WHAT the flip are you doing!” So I’m trying it out. You think it will be sweeping the nation soon? No. Hmmm.

One determined, yet somewhat disenchanted architect + pounds of garbage + many good deeds + a hard core attempt at social change = slick homes.
Sounds like the movie of the year to me.

Um, does this add-on freak anyone else out?
Bloomframe is an add-on balcony. The first Bloomframes will, according to designers/architects, Hofman Dujardin, be available early this year. You can add Bloomframe to a new or existing building. I don’t think a plain old balcony is scary. I mean, anyone can add a balcony on sure. Here’s […]

The other day when I showed the zeroHouse I mentioned that I like other designs from Specht Harpman better. First off I should say that any architect firm who has a structure category entitled, “Impractical” is worth a good look.
The most interesting impractical item to see is Specht Harpman’s Psychoplex; which is as odd as […]

I was looking for a different house when I came across this slice of unique; the Houses of Goa museum created by Panjim local architect Gerard da Cunha.
I guess its skinny nature would encourage you to stick to that New Years diet resolution.
A little tilting though. Sort of makes you dizzy.

1. Build a house shaped like a duck.
2. Light that sucker up and coerce the town children to sing duck carols around it.
I bet those lights you put up at your house don’t seem so festive anymore.

I’m so there.
I’m not the biggest tea fan but coffee is another story altogether. Not to mention that one of my favorite people is writing this blog. Marye from Baking Delights is rounding out her already useful scone, cookie, and other fine baking recipes with beverages that warm the soul at the new Kettle & […]

Happy December! Hope everyone’s having a good kick off to what will be a busy month for many of us. Where I live we were supposed to get snow this morning. I’m in Southwest Washington and didn’t believe the rumors and so far I’m right. Good news for me because I’m not the biggest snow […]
